Studying online, via TV applied in 40 localities: Ministry

Online teaching and studying via the Internet and television were being carried out in 40 centrally-run cities and provinces nationwide as of October 8 due to impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

The ministry reported that among the localities, 31, mostly in the south, had applied full online learning and learning, while the rest nine had combined these methods with in-person format.

Hanoi and Ha Nam are the only two localities in the north where students are yet to be allowed to go to school to study directly.

Meanwhile, students in the remaining 23 localities, all in the northern region, have been studying directly at schools.

Earlier in September, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh launched a programme to provide computers and telecoms services for students and pupils with difficult circumstances, especially those living in areas hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The programme has received strong response from businesses and community.
