Swedish specialists work with Bac Ninh Health Department on IT application and digital transformation
BAC NINH - On December 9, a Swedish delegation had a working session with the Department of Health of Bac Ninh province thanks to the connection by AstraZeneca Vietnam Company Limited. On the same day, the delegation paid a site visit to Bac Ninh General Hospital No 1 and Bac Ninh Oncology Hospital to inspect application of information technology (IT) and digital transformation towards smart medicine
At the working session, Lina Balsyte, a representative of the Swedish delegation, Head of the Healthcare and Life Sciences in Asia–Pacific, the Swedish Trade and Investment Council (Business Sweden) shared Sweden’s story in healthcare digitalization to enhance accessibility, equity, quality and innovation.

Sweeden is known as one of the pioneering countries worldwide applying digital health to cope with increasing challenges facing medical system.
Besides, another member of the delegation Julia Bergevi shared experience in launching remote healthcare in Sweeden and introduced EviBody solution, an AI health platform, developed based on research evidence, personalized to individual needs, and designed to support preventive healthcare in real-world settings

At the meeting, the participants discussed how to implement remote healthcare in Bac Ninh province and build smart clinical consultation room as well as cooperation plan among parties.
Thanks to cooperation and assistance of AstraZeneca Vietnam Company Limited, Bac Ninh’s health sector has carried out a number of exchange programmes including organisation of seminars and digital transformation in health sector especially AI application in diagnostic imaging and chronic disease screening.
The “Smart Healthcare Development” programme initiated by Astra Zeneca has been launched in Bac Ninh province since March 2025 with AI application in diagnostic imaging through the chest X-ray system at Bac Ninh General Hospital No 2, Bac Ninh Lung Hospital No 2 and Yen Phong Medical Center.

This application allows doctors to early detect mycobacterium tuberculosis and lung defects posing risks of lung cancer, helps to reduce radiograph interpretation time and assists in giving clinical decisions.
Astra Zeneca Vietnam Company Limited will continue expanding the scope of AI application in chest radiograph analysis to 10 public medical facilities in the province in coming time.
