BAC NINH - Local organisations on November 22 awarded scholarships to 134 disadvantaged students under the “Dream of the wings” programme, held at the Bac Ninh provincial Convention Centre in Bac Giang Ward.

The event was jointly organised by the provincial Association for the Protection of Child Rights, Bac Ninh Newspaper, Radio and Television Station and the provincial Study Promotion Association.

Delegates attend the event.

Over the past nine years, the programme has provided gifts and scholarships worth more than 6 billion VND (260,463 USD) to over 1,700 children living in especially difficult circumstances, encouraging them to stay in school and pursue better study conditions.

Many recipients have gone on to earn good academic results and secure places at universities and colleges.

For 2025, the programme received support from more than 30 agencies, units, enterprises, organisations and individual donors inside and outside the province, with total contributions in cash and goods valued at over 400 million VND.

Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Child Rights Luong The Khanh and representatives of sponsors present support packages to the students.

Long-term contributors include Venerable Thich Minh Quyet, Abbot of Hoa Yen Pagoda in Bac Giang Ward; Vinh Anh Trading and Services Co., Ltd.; and DNP Bac Giang Water Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., among others.

With the funds raised, organisers awarded annual scholarships worth 2.5 million to 12 million VND per student, along with schoolbags and essential items, to a total of 134 children, amounting to roughly 400 million VND.
