Updated: 09:06, 16/11/2020
The 3rd Trang Bang - Banh Trang Phoi Suong (dew-soaked rice crepe) Festival will take place in Tay Ninh Province’s Trang Bang District on December 24 to celebrate the Christmas and New Year season.

The event will introduce traditional dishes made from rice originating from Tay Ninh, such as banh trang phoi suong and banh canh (rice noodle soup cooked in southern style), both served with fish sauce.

Banh xeo (rice crepe stuffed with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts), a popular dish of southern people, will also be included.

The 3rd Trang Bang - Banh Trang Phoi Suong (dew-soaked rice crepe) Festival will take place in Tay Ninh Province’s Trang Bang District on December 24.

The festival will also include stalls of different types of Vietnamese vegetables and herbs, including tram oi (Lantana camara) and tram san (Syzygium cinereum), which are used in banh trang phoi suong.

Local arts and crafts will also be displayed at the event.

Visitors will be entertained with dozens of traditional musical performances and folk dances staged by professional art troupes and amateur art clubs in the region.

Local authorities have worked with tourist agencies in the region to offer new tours to handicraft villages and famous destinations in Tay Ninh, including Ba Đen Mountain, Cao Dai Great Temple and the Vam Co Dong River.

The organiser, Tay Ninh’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the festival will introduce the province’s traditional culture and lifestyle.

“We also hope to help local authorities find new opportunities to develop tourist services,” said Ha Minh Dao, deputy chairman of Trang Bang District People’s Committee, a member of the organising board.

Last year, the festival attracted more than 10,000 local and foreign visitors.

This year festival will close on New Year's Day.
