The extended National Day holiday will be marked in Ha Noi with a series of large-scale official activities. Among these are the rehearsal parade on August 27, the final rehearsal on August 30, and the state-level parade on September 2.
In addition to major events, the long holiday offers visitors an opportunity to explore the beauty of the capital. Ha Noi brings a historic charm, with close ties to many significant milestones in the nation's history.
Visiting renowned landmarks such as Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake, or the Old Quarter promises to be a memorable experience, particularly appealing to solo travellers visiting the capital for the first time.
Notably, 58% of travellers expressed a desire to explore local culinary culture. This figure highlights how connecting with a destination through its signature dishes offers meaningful experiences.
One of the most engaging activities for visitors keen to immerse themselves in Ha Noi's culinary scene is joining traditional cooking or mixology classes.
Travellers are eager to learn how to prepare local dishes, visit traditional markets, discover characteristic ingredients, and listen to the stories behind each dish.
Experiencing pottery-making is also drawing interest, with activities at Bat Trang Pottery Village, located not far from Ha Noi's centre. Shaping clay by hand, spinning the wheel, and crafting one’s own ceramic items can make for a deeply personal and distinctive tourism experience.
Moreover, Ha Noi connects visitors to its rich cultural heritage through traditional folk-art forms, notably water puppetry. Wooden puppets skilfully manoeuvred over water, accompanied by folk music and narrated tales depicting ancient legends and rural Vietnamese life, continue to attract both domestic and international tourists.
