Dao Duy Phat (R) and Tran Minh Ha discuss the lessons. |
He achieved excellent student title during primary school and topped the school in terms of the subject test scores. His fruitful results have been reaped thanks to his good attitude and hard-working study with self-nurturing to improve his knowledge.
Phat’s parents are working in Dinh Tram industrial park (Viet Yen district) who often go to work early and come home late. Both Phat and his sibling take self-discipline to study. He does not go to after-school class but he spends time self studying. His parents allowed him to take part in football club for entertainment and improving his physical strength. This summer, he will practice some advanced swimming skills, self-study English and read books at home.
Tran Minh Ha is Phat’s classmate who gained the second highest score at this exam with 46.5 points. These close friends have studied together during 5 years at primary school. Ha’s score was only 0.1 point less than Phat in total 3 subjects, but he gained the highest score at mathematics (19.75 points) and English (10 points). The English questions were evaluated difficult but Ha still gained the perfect score thanks to his strong knowledge.
With his achievement, Ha is grateful to Nguyen Thi Thuy, her English teacher for her dedicated teaching during the last academic year. Ha shared, his score at Vietnamese subject (16.75 points) was not as good as the 2 other subjects; hence, he will read more books to practice grammar and enrich his vocabulary.
The last 2 academic years disrupted by Covid-19 pandemic caused numerous difficulties against students; however, Ha changed difficulties into opportunities with more time for self-studying. After online lessons, he carefully revised the theory sections to apply in general practices then he did advanced exercises and strived to solve all problems.
There are many interesting books for children on the book shelf at his narrow study corner. Although their family faced difficulties, Ha’s mother always pays special attention to her son’s studying. Ha’s mother often gives him interesting books and encourages him to broaden knowledge through reading books.
Thanks to his great effort in studying, Ha has gained excellent student title for 5 consecutive years. Especially, he won first prize at the provincial “Trang nguyen tieng Viet” (Vietnamese scholar) contest in 2022 and bronze medal at the 2021 Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO).
Ha is evaluated a talented boy because he is excellent at not only study but also at swimming and playing chess. He won gold medal the provincial chess tournament for teenagers and children in 2020. This summer, Ha determines to practice sports for comprehensive growth.
“I am very proud of my students who gained the highest scores at the high-quality 6th grade entrance exam in the city. With their good results at all subjects, Phat and Ha often help their classmates in study.
I often appointed them as group leaders to do difficult exercises as samples for other students. 29 out of 33 students of my class passed the high-quality 6th grade entrance exam, 9 of whom gained the highest scores”, said Nguyen Thi Nien, head teacher of class 5A3, Dong Thanh primary school, Bac Giang city.
Dong Thanh primary school always pays attention to renewing teaching methodology, classifying students into different groups depending on their talents and strong points to nurture and encouraging the students in their study.
As a result, in line with basic knowledge at elementary curriculum, the students are nurtured to develop their appropriate capacity. Their efforts and achievements are precious gifts for the school and motivation for successive student generations to gain more outstanding achievements.
