Various activities celebrating National Day at cultural village

A series of activities will be organised at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay Town, Hanoi, throughout September in celebration of the 75th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 -2020).

Activities aim at honouring and introducing the culture and customs of 54 Vietnamese ethnic communities at the village, contributing to preserving and promoting special cultural values and strengthening exchanges between ethnic groups and attracting tourists during the national holidays.

The event also contributes to the completion of tourism products and opens the peak tourist season at the end of 2020, spreads the spirit of uniting and working together to overcome difficulties and fight against Covid-19.

In particular, the highlights of this year's event include a special circus art show by artists and actors from the Vietnam Circus Federation and a folk dance programme to celebrate National Day.

The event will draw the participation of more than 100 people from 16 ethnic groups, such as Tay, Dao, Mong, Nung, Thai, Muong, Kho Mu, O Du, Ta Oi, Co Tu, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Jarai, Raglai, Ede and Khmer; along with the participation of 12 localities, including the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Ha Giang, Son La, Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak and Soc Trang.

On the occasion, visitors to the village will have a chance to enjoy special art performances staged by students from the Thai Nguyen-based Viet Bac Art and Culture College on September 19 and 20, and an art programme by the Central Highlands ethnic minorities on September 12-13 and 26-27.

In addition, the Sene Dolta Festival of the Khmer community and the traditional festival of E De ethnic group in Dak Lak will be re-enacted on September 19 and 27.
