Vietnam grabs three gold medals at Thailand Open Track and Field Championships
Vietnamese sprinter Tran Dinh Son was crowned the fastest in the men’s 400m dash with a time of 46.64 seconds, beating Yang Lung Hsiang of Chinese Taipei (46.91 seconds) to set his personal best.

The men’s triple jump category saw Nguyen Van Hao bring home another gold medal for Vietnam with a distance of 15.52 metres, ahead of Thailand’s Pratchaya Tepparak (15.4 metres) and Ronne Malipay of the Philippines (15.34 metres). On the women’s side, Tran Hue Hoa managed to secure Vietnam a bronze with a jump of 12.64 metres.
Vietnam’s third gold medal was won by male long jumper Nguyen Tien Trong with a distance of 7.7 metres. He was followed by Filipino Janry Ubas (7.67 metres) and Chinese Taipei’s Tai Chiao Heng (7.53 metres).

Pham Thi Diem missed out on a fourth title for Vietnam in the women’s high jump, grabbing a silver medal with a height of 1.79 metres, just 0.04 metres behind the Kazakh gold medalist, Yelizaveta Matveyeva.
The athletes will continue to battle for medals on the last day of competition today.
