Vietnam, Mozambique boosts radio and television cooperation

A delegation of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) leaders, led by VOV General Director Nguyen The Ky, paid a working visit to Mozambique from June 23-25 to promote radio and television cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique.

The VOV delegation visited the headquarters of Mozambique’s RM Radio on June 24 and held talks with leaders of RM Radio on cooperation measures between the two agencies.

General Director of RM Radio Abdul Naguibo Abdulla welcomed the visit of the VOV delegation, saying that the visit will open new opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two broadcasting stations and two governments, contributing to fostering the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed his affection for the Vietnamese people and country, emphasising that Mozambique and RM Radio still face many difficulties, thus, the Radio wishes to receive VOV's assistance in the modernisation of its equipment and programme production.

VOV General Director Ky affirmed that the Vietnamese people and Government appreciate the support from the people and Government of Mozambique during the past struggle for national independence and in the current process of national development.

Ky said that the two Radios can strengthen cooperation in various areas including the sharing and broadcasting of articles on land and people of the two sides on both VOV and RM channels.

In addition, the two sides can assist each other in human resource training, providing modern broadcasting equipment, the exchange of reporters, management experience and insight in dealing with challenges of modern communications, and others.

The delegation also visited and held talks with staff at the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique and with telecommunications company Movitel (a joint venture of Vietnamese giant Viettel and Mozambique’s SPI).
