Vietnam Red Cross launches emergency aid for storm-hit provinces

The Vietnam Red Cross Society has decided to allocate over 3.3 billion VND (125,472 USD) in cash and goods to assist Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Quang Ngai provinces, with the funding from its H2025 relief account at Vietcombank and from the “Clean Water for Communities” project, sponsored by Procter & Gamble (P&G) through Americares.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society has launched an emergency relief operation to support residents in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Quang Ngai provinces, severely impacted by Typhoon Kalmaegi and its aftermath.

The Lam Dong Red Cross, in coordination with sponsors, delivered 540 essential relief packages to residents severely affected by floods in Ham Thanh commune, Lam Dong province.

The society has decided to allocate over 3.3 billion VND (125,472 USD) in cash and goods to assist the three provinces, with the funding from its H2025 relief account at Vietcombank and from the “Clean Water for Communities” project, sponsored by Procter & Gamble (P&G) through Americares.

Preliminary estimates show total storm-related damage reaching 7.85 trillion VND, with Gia Lai hardest hit (5.21 trillion VND), followed by Dak Lak (2.3 trillion VND), Quang Ngai (307 billion VND), and Lam Dong (32 billion VND).

Local authorities continue to assess losses and work on recovery efforts.
