Bac Ninh has strongly leveraged digital technology in tourism management and promotion to increase its attractiveness.
With just a smartphone connected to the internet, tourists can easily access information about destinations, plan itineraries, book tours and routes, find directions, search for restaurants, hotels, events, or transportation options. Since 2018, the province has implemented the Bac Ninh Tourism GIS application, enabling users to search for data on tours, sightseeing routes, and accommodation services.
In 2020, the smart tourism portal (https://bacninhtourism.vn) and the “Bac Ninh Tourism” app were launched, offering Vietnamese-English bilingual support and many user-friendly features that facilitate effective interaction among tourists, businesses, and management agencies.
Following its merger with Bac Giang province, Bac Ninh’s online tourism portal is now integrated at https://mybacninh.vn, linked with the former Bac Giang tourism portal, and expanding data coverage across the province.
Bac Ninh is also a pioneer in digitising tourist destinations through QR code systems, 360-degree images, 3D videos, and automated narration. Many key monuments and tourist sites have QR codes installed to provide information and introduce their historical, cultural, and architectural values.
