YouTube Shorts travel video contest “Viet Nam: Travel to Love!” to be launched

Updated: 09:43, 09/07/2025

On July 9 in Ha Noi, the Tourism Information Centre (under the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism) will officially launch a travel video contest on YouTube Shorts in collaboration with YouTube and MCV Group, under the theme “Viet Nam: Travel to Love!”.

The programme will be held to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese tourism sector (July 9, 1960 – July 9, 2025), a significant milestone marking the strong development of the industry.

Ha Long Bay, a heritage site attracting tourists in Quang Ninh.

The contest aims to promote digital communications and spread the image of Viet Nam and its people to both domestic and international tourists through a modern and trend-appropriate approach.

Taking place over three months, with the message “Travel to chill, feel to love”, the contest seeks to inspire passion for exploration, enjoyment and documenting the beauty of Viet Nam in each individual’s unique way.

From majestic natural landscapes, vast sea and islands, rich cultural heritage, and regional cuisine to daily life rhythms and the friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people – all can serve as material to create lively, close, and inspiring works.

Videos can reflect personal styles, individual travel stories or offer new perspectives on familiar destinations, thereby enriching the picture of Vietnamese tourism in the new era.

With total prizes worth over 100 million VND, the contest is expected to attract thousands of entries from across the country. Videos may be presented in English or include English subtitles to increase accessibility to international audiences.

In addition to valuable prizes, outstanding entries will have the opportunity to be featured on the official YouTube channel of the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism.

According to Hoang Quoc Hoa, Director of the Tourism Information Centre under the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, this contest is not only a playground for travel enthusiasts and digital content creators, but also an effort by the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism to enhance the application of technology and digital transformation in tourism promotion.

“With the strong global reach of the YouTube platform, we hope that citizens, especially young people and content creators, will actively participate in promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism through their own experiences and perspectives,” he said, adding that each video submission is not only a contest entry, but also a positive message that contributes to inspiring tourism, connecting communities, and honouring the unique values of Viet Nam on the world tourism map.

Mukpim Anantachai, Head of YouTube Partnerships Viet Nam and Thailand, shared that Vietnamese content creators are truly leading the storytelling trend on digital platforms, helping to spread the essence of Viet Nam to international friends, and that their authentic stories have sparked powerful inspiration, encouraging global audiences to explore this beautiful country.

Do Thi Duyen, Networks Director and Digital Director of MCV Group, stated that MCV believes the contest will reach a wide audience both domestically and internationally.

“The contest is not just a communications campaign, but also an emotional bridge that evokes national pride and love for the homeland in the most authentic and heartfelt way,” she said.

“Through the contest, we hope to contribute to attracting domestic and international tourists while promoting the sustainable development of Viet Nam’s tourism industry”.
