31 martyrs’ families in Hiep Hoa district honored with third class Independence Medal
In two resistance wars against French and American colonists toward national defense, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) had biggest numbers of revolutionary contributors in the province with nearly 2,700 martyrs, 185 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, about 1,900 wounded and over 1,000 sick soldiers, 2 Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, 117 families of national contributors among others.

Now, the district monthly pays over 6.6 billion VND (over 282,000 USD) as the regular allowance for national contributors and relatives, offers health nursing service for more than 1,400 persons every year. Meanwhile, local authority allocates over 5 billion VND to visit and present gifts to the social beneficial cases in special and holiday occasions.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the district People’s Committee Hoang Cong Bo expressed his sincere respect for the great sacrifice and devotion of the martyrs, wound and sick soldiers and families of national contributors.
He affirmed that local Party, authority and people always pay due attention to implementing sufficient and timely policies for the revolutionary contributors and further support them.

On the occasion, 31 families whose sole offspring or several members sacrificed the life for the cause of national liberation and protection were honored with third class Independence Medal by the State President.
Besides, 10 collectives and 31 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing policies for national revolutionary contributors and paying tribute task were honored by the Chairman of the district People’s Committee.
