90 candidates participate in national contest to select excellent high school students

(BGO) – The Department of Education and Training (DoET) in the northern province of Bac Giang on December 25 held a ceremony to see off the candidates of the 2019 national contest to select the excellent high school students at the Bac Giang high school for gifted students (BHGS). The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong; representatives of DoET and Viet Bach Architect Joint Stock Company (Viet Bach JSC).

This year event drew 90 candidates from 11 teams, up 2 students from the BHGS comparing to last year. Among them, there included the teams of Maths, French, Chinese with 6 members per team; teams of Biology, Informatics, Geography and English with 8 members per team; teams of Physics, Chemistry, Literature and History with 10 member per team; 36 students at twelve grade and 54 students at eleven grade.

Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong presents the gifts to encourage the students of all teams.

As scheduled, it will take place from January 13- 15, 2019. To prepare for the contest, the Board of School Administration, teachers and students at BHGS have highly focused on searching for talented students to foster and train them on the knowledge and skill. Meanwhile, the support policy has been timely provided to the students livings in poor, near poor families or disadvantaged households.

BHGS targets to be in the top 15 high schools for gifted students nationwide participating in the regional and international contests and winning prizes.

The provincial leader congratulated the great efforts of the local educational sector in general and teachers and students at BHGS in particular. In order to achieve the set target, especially higher result against last year, he noted that the candidates should believe in themselves, pay due attention to personal healthcare toward best preparation for the contest.

Also, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong urged the leaders of DoET and BGHG to actively prepare for the contest to select members for the national team to compete in the regional and international events as well as ensure a suitable diet and lifestyle.

The representative of Viet Bach Architect Joint Stock Company hands the amount to support the teams of excellent students.

Besides, he wished the students to confidently prove themselves in the contest to gain the high result, promote the studious tradition and golden table of achievement of the school.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman Duong presented many gifts to encourage the candidates of 11 teams and teachers in charge of fostering the excellent students while the representative from Viet Bach JSC handed 50 million VND (over 2,100 USD) to support them.
