The Bao Viet Life Corporation (Bao Viet) has inked the scholarship programme “Social welfare – Bicycle to school” with Vietnam Association for Protection of Children’s Rights (VAPCR) since 2004.
As of 2019, Bao Viet has presented about 15,000 scholarships and thousands of gifts with total value of nearly 14 billion VND (605,000 USD) to the children living in special and difficult circumstances across the nation.
Bac Giang is among the beneficiaries. Each year the province presents dozens of gift packages, bicycles and bags to the poor students with good academic achievements on the occasion of new academic year and Lunar New Year.
Also, the provincial FPCR is accompanied by Vietnam Association for Protection of Children affected by Agent Orange, Asia Hope Association, For Heart Association, Rice Association (France).
Every year, the province has hundreds of special difficult students granted the scholarships by the French kind hearted people via the provincial FPCR with total value of thousands of euro. Though the scholarships are small in value, they are meaningful gifts to inspire the students to conquer the life challenges.
Sweet fruit from humanity
Nguyen Thi Phuong Hong (born in 1997) in Thong Nhat village, Yen My commune (Lang Giang district) has recently graduated from Foreign Economy Department, Hanoi Foreign Trade University. Her father passed away in a traffic accident when she was over one month old. Her mother strives her best to raise Hong up.

At grade six, Hong was granted the scholarship of Asia Hope Association. Every year, the god parent from Montereau Fault Yonne, Ile de France who Hong has never seen sent her letters in French and 4 million VND scholarship.
Speaking about the sponsored persons, Hong moved: “I really thank the god parent for their emotion and support when I am difficult. The gifts provide me more chance to go to school and follow my dream”.
Besides, Chu Van Tien (born in 2009) in Na Luong village, Tan Son commune (Luc Ngan district) is a case. His father passed away long time ago while his mother is suffered from regular sickness. Two miserable persons rely all on the small field and little allowance from the Government for the living.
Since grade 1, he had to walk to school. Acknowledging his circumstance, the provincial FPCR made the document to request the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children affected by Agent Orange to present him a bicycle. The gift helped shorten his way to school.
Since 2000, the humanitarian organizations have presented the gifts, bicycles and scholarships to more than 1,000 children via the provincial FPCR with annual support amount of some 800 million VND (34,500 USD).
Besides, the provincial FPCR called for the organizations and enterprises to sponsor hundreds of children via presenting annual scholarship twice per year till they graduate from the university.
Many students graduated from the university, colleges, vocational training school and found suitable jobs such as Nguyen Duy Bach (Bac Giang city), Nguyen Cam Van (Viet Yen district), Nguyen Thi Thom (Tan Yen district).... It is the sweet fruits from the kind heart who live for every one.
