Aid continues to be sent to flood victims in central region

The Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (Hanoi chapter) provided VND900 million to local households whose houses were damaged in the recent floods in Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province.

Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong handed over the financial support to local flood victims on December 13.

During the recent floods, two people were killed and 32 were injured in Phu Ninh district. 21 houses were completely damaged while more than 980 houses were severely damaged.

*A delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, Trung Vuong Hospital and the Red Cross Society of Tan Phu district on December 12 -13 provided humanitarian assistance to people affected by floods and storms in Quang Ngai province.

The delegation presented medicine to 1,400 local people and gifts to 1,200 people in Tu Nghia district. They also assisted local households in repairing 100 unroofed housed, presented 50 bikes and 600 gifts to students, among others.

The delegation also provided Binh Minh Secondary School in Binh Son district with VND250 million and Binh Minh Kindergarten with VND100 million to repair their facilities.

*A delegation from Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Ho Chi Minh City chapter), the Command of Border Guard of Ho Chi Minh City, and Le Bao Minh Company visited Dak Ring commune in Kon Plongdistrict, Kon Tum province to provide medical equipment and hundreds of gifts worth VND500 million to local people affected by landslides.
