(BGO) – Implementing Plant a
Billion Trees Programme launched by the Prime Minister, in the period 2021 –
2025, Bac Giang province planned to grow 30 million trees and 200 ha of
protective forest.
Accordingly, the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) assigned specific target to the districts and city, particularly 3,1 million trees to each district of Viet Yen, Yen Dung and Bac Giang city; 3 million trees to each district of Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Hiep Hoa and Tan Yen; 2.9 million trees to each locality of Luc Nam, Yen The and Lang Giang.

At the same time, two districts of Son Dong and Luc Ngan are assigned to develop 10 to 30 ha of protective forest every year.
In 2021, the province set target to grow five million trees and 40 ha of centralized forest. As of late November, more than five million trees of all kinds were planted, accounting for nearly 101 percent of the set target.
Several districts exceeded the plan, such as Son Dong (177 percent), Luc Ngan (127.5 percent), Luc Nam (140.4 percent), Lang Giang and Yen The (104 percent).
The above result was gained thanks to the active communication campaign from localities about the purpose and meaning of the Programme, good preparation of capital and socialization source to grow the tree.
Currently, Son Dong and Luc Ngan districts have completed growing 40 ha of concentrated protective forest as the assigned plan this year with over 95 percent of tree alive.
