An overview of the wastewater treatment system. |
The firm started operations in the province in 2016 with a capacity of more than 225 million products per year and a total investment of 80 million USD. Continuously expanding the factory, the company increased its total investment capital to over 330 million USD in 2020, creating stable jobs and increasing income for employees. In 2020, it posted revenue of 23.3 trillion VND (over 1 billion USD) and paid tens of billions of VND to the State budget.
Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the enterprise has made efforts to ensure income and welfare policies for employees. Especially, with more than 23,000 workers working in factories, a large volume of daily domestic wastewater has been discharged into the environment. Pursuing the motto of the green production associated with environmental protection, in early 2018, the company invested about 45 billion VND (1.96 million USD) in building a domestic wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 900 cu.m per day using microbiological technology combined with Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR). At the end of 2018, the system was completed and put into use.

The water quality after treatment meets the standard class A QCVN 14: 2008/BTNMT set by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Therefore, the treated water is reused for purposes such as floor washing and toilet flushing. The system is operated by nine technicians who are on duty around the clock.
Regularly maintaining environmental protection
When operating this system, the wastewater treatment fee the company has to pay will significantly decrease. According to the firm’s estimates, within 2 years of stable operation, it saved around 3 million USD from use of recycled water and reduced wastewater treatment fee. According to the provincial Industrial Zones Management Board, the New Wing Interconnect Technology Company Limited is one of the typical enterprises in observing the regulations on environmental protection. The investment in such an advanced wastewater treatment system has not only brought efficiency to the company but also contributed to easing the wastewater treatment load in the Van Trung Industrial Park, as well as minimizing pollution for the whole province's environment.

In addition to investing in wastewater treatment technology, the business has planted 5,000 trees and hung more than 100 posters on environmental protection; requested operators to monitor and check the wastewater treatment system regularly, track monitoring parameters and abnormal phenomena at the system; and submit annual environmental monitoring reports in line with law.
According to the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the role of enterprises is not only shown in production and business efficiency, productivity and product quality, but also in practical actions to protect the environment, contributing to sustainable development.
