Bac Giang honors 125 exemplary models in humanitarian work

(BGO) – The Red Cross Society (RCS) in Bac Giang province on September 9 organized a meeting to honor the exemplary models in humanitarian work in the period 2015 – 2020. The event was attended by Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee (PPC), Honor Chairman of the provincial RCS Bui Van Hai, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS) Tran Quoc Hung.

Following Uncle Ho’s teaching “Emulation is patriotism, patriots must emulate” together with due attention from the Party and authority at all levels in period 2015 – 2020, the emulation movement of the provincial RCS at all levels have been accelerated to gain outstanding results.

For the past 5 years, all units of RCS have mobilized total donation of over 238.6 billion VND (10.3 million USD) and supported nearly 696,400 people to significantly contribute to realizing the poverty reduction target and ensuring the social welfare.

Besides, Bac Giang province always secures top ranking position in the RCS’s emulative movement among the Northern provinces and cities. For 5 years, the province has received more than 88,600 blood units, up over 37,400 units comparing to the previous period while the people healthcare, first aid delivery, RCS model have been expanded with effective operation.

VRCS Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Hung hands over the Certificate of Merit bestowed by Vietnam Red Cross Society to PPC Secretary Bui Van Hai for his excellent achievement in patriotism emulation movement in the period 2015 – 2020.

Speaking at the meeting, PPC Secretary Bui Van Hai and VRCS Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Hung warmly appreciated and praised the great efforts and contribution of RCS’s units, organization, kind-hearted people in and outside the province in the local humanitarian tasks.

There are now several difficult cases in the province who truly need the sharing and support from the community. Thus, to fulfill the emulation tasks and goals in the period 2020 – 2025 and affirm the role of humanitarian bridge, the central and provincial leaders urged the provincial RCS at all levels to further boost up the communication about humane value so as to create drastic change in the awareness of the local party, authority and society to deepen the national tradition of solidarity and humanity.
