Accordingly, Bac Giang urban area is divided into 9 regions including:

Region 1 is the existing central urban area with an area of about 1,466 hectares. It is the existing Bac Giang city center with 9 wards and communes of Dinh Ke, Dinh Tri, Hoang Van Thu, Le Loi, Tran Phu, Ngo Quyen, Tran Nguyen Han, Tho Xuong, Xuong Giang.

Region 2 is a complex urban area and a new multi-purpose center with an area of about 2,247 hectares, including 8 wards, communes and towns of Dinh Ke, Tan Tien, Huong Gian, Dinh Tri, Xuan Phu, town Tan An, part of Hoang Van Thu ward and Le Loi ward.

Region 3 is a key urban - commercial and service area with an area of about 1,914 hectares, including 4 communes of Dong Son, Noi Hoang, Tien Phong and part of Song Khe commune.

Region 4 is the Northwest urban area with an area of about 1,537 hectares, including 6 wards and communes of My Do, Da Mai, Song Mai, Tan My, Song Khe and part of Dong Son commune.

Region 5 is the Northern ecological urban area with an area of about 907 hectares, including 2 wards and communes of Song Mai and Da Mai.

Region 6 is the Eastern gateway urban area with an area of about 2,048 hectares, including Tan An town and communes of Lao Ho and Xuan Phu.

Region 7 is Nham Bien mountain eco-tourism area with an area of about 2,599 hectares, including part of Nham Bien town and communes of Noi Hoang, Tien Phong, Tan Lieu, Yen Lu, Dong Son.

Region 8 is a creative and manufacturing urban area with an area of about 4,378 hectares, including Nham Bien town and communes of Yen Lu, Canh Thuy, Tien Dung.

Region 9 is a green corridor and amusement park along the Thuong River, with an area of about 1,354 hectares, including part of Nham Bien town and wards and communes of Song Mai, Da Mai, Tho Xuong, Tran Phu, My Do, Le Loi, Dong Son, Tan Tien, Tan Lieu, Huong Gian, Xuan Phu, Tien Dung.

110 kV Bac Giang - Lang Son line put in use
