Delegates attend the announcing conference of Bac Giang Urban General Planning in Bac Giang province until 2045, scale 1/10,000.

On December 26, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1685/QD-TTg approving the Bac Giang Urban General Planning Project of Bac Giang province until 2045, scale 1/10,000.

Accordingly, the planning covers entire natural land of Bac Giang city and existing Yen Dung district. The planned area is about 25,830 hectares, including 6,656 hectares in Bac Giang city and the rest in Yen Dung district.

Regarding the planning term, short-term period will last until 2030 while long-term period will be till 2045. The planning aims to concretize the strategic directions of Bac Giang Provincial Planning in 2021 – 2030 period will the vision to 2050 and related specialized plans to turn Bac Giang urban area into central urban area and important gateway to the Northeast of Hanoi Capital region; the gateway for export, import and transit of goods between the Capital region with Huu Nghi international border gate (Lang Son province); an important business and trade hub of the region with the Northeast provinces.

Bac Giang's urban population by 2030 will be about 472,000 people, of which the inner population will be about 370,000 people, accounting for 78.39 percent of the total population. By 2045, Bac Giang's urban population will be about 666,000 people, the inner city population will be about 596,000 people, accounting for 89.49 percent of the total population.

The planned land area by 2030 hits about 3,570 hectares, reaching an average of about 96 square meter per person and about 5,323 hectares by 2045, reaching an average of about 89 square meters per person.

Bac Giang urban space is oriented to be the political, economic, cultural and social center of the province, a point connecting urban areas in the urban system of the province and surrounding areas.

The Bac Giang urban space will be developed with connectivity between the existing Bac Giang City and the expansion area in Yen Dung district so as to build Bac Giang city to be first class urban area...
