Bac Ninh accelerates digital transformation of labour market to meet hiring demand
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh is accelerating the digitalisation of its labour market as manufacturers expand production and step up recruitment, with authorities and businesses increasingly relying on online platforms to connect employers with job seekers more quickly and efficiently. The shift is expected to help reduce hiring costs, improve labour market transparency and support long-term economic growth.
Demand for workers is expected to surge in the second half of the year as factories ramp up production to fulfil orders.

The provincial Department of Home Affairs estimates that companies across the province will need to recruit more than 100,000 workers, mainly in electronics, mechanical engineering, component manufacturing and garment production.
Several major manufacturers account for a significant share of that demand. Foxconn's operations at Dinh Tram Industrial Park plan to hire around 27,000 workers, while Fushan Technology Vietnam at VSIP Industrial Park is seeking 10,000 employees.
Crystal Martin Vietnam at Quang Chau Industrial Park requires about 5,500 workers, and Goertek Vina at Nam Son-Hap Linh Industrial Park aims to recruit another 5,000.
The scale of recruitment has prompted companies to move away from traditional methods such as distributing leaflets or posting notices outside factory gates.
Instead, businesses are increasingly using digital recruitment platforms, social media and online employment services to reach candidates more effectively.
Dreamtech Vietnam, located in VSIP Industrial Park, expects to recruit between 500 and 700 production workers every month through the end of the year for a new manufacturing project.
In addition to advertising vacancies on online recruitment platforms, the company works with employment service centres across northern Vietnam, allowing candidates to search for jobs, register, complete interviews and receive offers within a much shorter timeframe. Company recruiters say digital platforms have become essential as competition for workers intensifies.
Garment manufacturers are adopting similar strategies. Pearl Global Vietnam, based in Bac Giang Ward, is recruiting about 500 workers through a combination of the Bac Ninh Employment Service Centre, social media campaigns and cooperation with local authorities to broaden outreach.
The approach has helped companies expand access to labour from multiple provinces while significantly shortening recruitment time.
Beyond supporting recruitment, provincial authorities view digitalisation as a foundation for building a comprehensive database on labour supply and demand.
Such data can improve workforce forecasting, vocational training policies and job matching based on actual market needs.
The Bac Ninh Employment Service Centre has upgraded its operations by publishing recruitment information through its website, social media channels and other digital platforms before each job fair. It has also invested in technology infrastructure to enable businesses and applicants to conduct interviews online.
According to the centre, digital transformation measures include digitising archived records, upgrading its mobile-friendly website, launching an automated Zalo OA information service and expanding the use of social media and employment applications to reach more workers.
For job seekers, digital platforms have simplified access to employment opportunities. With a smartphone, applicants can browse thousands of vacancies, compare salaries, working conditions and benefits, and submit applications without travelling to multiple locations.

One applicant who previously worked in neighbouring Thai Nguyen province said she secured a job at Crystal Martin Vietnam after attending an online job fair and completing a virtual interview, allowing her to find employment closer to home.
To strengthen the system, the provincial Department of Home Affairs is coordinating with industrial park authorities, local governments, businesses and training institutions to regularly update recruitment and job-seeking data.
The information will be used to forecast labour demand by industry and season, enabling more targeted employment support programmes.
The effort also aligns with the Ministry of Home Affairs' launch of the National Employment Exchange in April, an online platform that allows employers to post vacancies and job seekers to create profiles and apply for positions nationwide.
Provincial officials say the system will broaden labour supply, reduce recruitment costs and improve market transparency as more employers and workers adopt digital hiring tools.
