30 teams win prizes at first Robocon Contest
BAC GIANG - On August 14, the final round of the first Bac Giang Province Robocon Contest themed "Discovering Bac Giang Tourism" was launched with the participation from 48 teams that passed the qualifying round.
The event was attended by Associate Professor. Dr. Pham Quang Thao, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee; Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ngo Chi Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, Head of the Competition Organizing Committee.

The teams were divided into 3 groups: Group A (students from grades 3 to 5); Group B (students from grades 6 to 9); Group C (students from grades 10 to 12) basing on the 2023-2024 school year.
In the final round, the teams focused on programming, assembling and running robots on a sand table at the competition venue. Specifically, the teams programmed and assembled robots with the teaching aids provided by the Organizing Committee in advance. After 60 minutes of programming and assembling the robots, the teams submitted the robots to the Organizing Committee.
Regarding the robot running competition on the sand table, the teams competed twice times. In each turn, teams in group A had 2 minutes to run their robots; teams in groups B and C had 3 minutes to run their robots and perform tasks as required by the Organizing Committee.

According to the Organizing Committee, the teams were well prepared, actively studied and researched to master the techniques of coding, designing and assembling equipment. Therefore, during the competition, the teams assembled robots proficiently and used different tactics in racing part which brought excitement and drama to the audience.
The contest had high professional quality, meeting the requirements of fully automatic robot programming.
As a result, the Organizing Committee selected 30 excellent teams to award First, Second, Third and Encouragement prizes.

3 First prizes went to the teams: Gen Alpha Bac Giang Alliance (Information Technology - Communication Center, Department of Information and Communication) in Group A; Math Team in Thang Town Secondary School (Hiep Hoa) in Group B; Lg1_esports in Lang Giang High School No. 1 (Lang Giang) in Group C.
Along with the cash prize, the winners were awarded certificates and medals. In addition, the Organizing Committee issued certificates and a bonus of 1 million VND to all the participating contestants in the final round without any prizes.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in propaganda and organization of the Contest.
