During the meeting, Chung highlighted the friendship between Bac Ninh and Chungnam, established in 2023, and briefed the guests on Bac Ninh’s economic, social and cultural development.

He emphasized the province’s strong industrial growth, driven largely by foreign direct investment, including major contributions from Samsung and other South Korean enterprises.

Chung said Bac Ninh’s two-tier local government system has strengthened administrative efficiency, while the province’s labor federation now oversees 2,450 grassroots trade unions with nearly 600,000 members.

Local unions have been active in safeguarding workers’ rights and promoting stable, harmonious labor relations within enterprises, he added.

Chung expressed hopes that the meeting would allow both sides to share experiences and good practices in union activities, laying the foundation for a stronger partnership between Bac Ninh and Chungnam, as well as deepening the broader Vietnam–South Korea relationship.

Chairman Choi Jung Hee praised Bac Ninh’s rapid economic and social progress and commended its labor union for its effective work.

He also provided an overview of Chungnam Province — one of South Korea’s three largest provinces — and outlined key activities of its labor federation.

Choi expressed a strong desire to foster closer cooperation between the two labor organizations through regular exchanges and joint programs aimed at protecting the rights and welfare of union members and workers.

He invited Bac Ninh Federation of Labor leaders to visit Chungnam in the near future to continue building the partnership.
