DOLAB-JICA application launched to help Vietnamese workers access transparent information about labour market abroad
A ceremony was held on July 30 to launch the DOLAB-JICA application (DJ app), marking a significant step forward in supporting Vietnamese workers to access overseas job opportunities directly, transparently, and free of charge.
This app is part of the project on supporting job information connection for Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts, which has been jointly implemented by Department of Overseas Labour Management (DOLAB) under the Viet Nam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) since August 2023.

It allows workers to view approved job postings from licensed service providers, with full details such as occupation, work location, and basic salary.
It also allows workers to send direct messages to recruiting companies for consultation without any intermediaries, reducing costs and potential exploitation.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Director of DOLAB Vu Truong Giang emphasised that the app concretises Viet Nam's guidelines and laws on sending workers abroad, aiming to help workers connect directly, lower expenses, and safeguard long-term rights.
The app is designed as a comprehensive platform accessible via both website and smartphone, targeting diverse users, especially those in remote areas with limited access to transparent international labour market information.
It is also beneficial for service companies by improving candidate access, reducing recruitment costs, and enhancing operational efficiency. Domestic companies can connect more easily with high-quality workers who have overseas experience and training.
According to Uno Koichi, an official from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the app is among Japan’s efforts to promote transparency and protect young Vietnamese workers from excessive fees and fraud, while contributing to realising the country’s Employment for Skill Development (ESD) programme
Currently, over 800,000 Vietnamese workers are employed in more than 40 countries and territories, with nearly 450,000 in Japan. In 2024 alone, more than 158,000 Vietnamese workers were sent abroad under contract.
