The honoured localities were recognised for proactively fostering innovation-friendly environments, implementing initiatives suited to local conditions, building supporting infrastructure and services and spreading a spirit of creativity throughout the community, particularly among young people.

These efforts have generated clear socio-economic impacts, contributing to stronger competitiveness at both local and national levels. The 10 localities included Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Hue.

The largest edition ever, TechFest Vietnam 2025 took place from December 12 to 14, attracting more than 60,000 in-person and online participants. The event featured over 20 corporations, 50 investment funds, more than 100 support organisations and incubators, and delegates from six international regions: Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe.

A notable highlight of TechFest Vietnam 2025 was its shift from a traditional “conference hall” format to an “open-space event,” enabling the public, startups, investors and academic institutions to interact directly in the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area in Hanoi.

Discussions and seminars were held in open networking zones, while technology experiences were enhanced through hands-on interactive points. Participation was expanded to include household businesses, students, the elderly, and small and medium-sized enterprises, creating a multi-dimensional convergence linking markets, technology, policy and investment.

The digitally transformed Phu Dong symbol served as a unifying image throughout the event, reflecting the strong aspiration of Vietnam’s startup generation to rise in the digital era.
