Updated: 14:30, 04/03/2026

BAC NINH - Bac Ninh authorities pledged to prioritize resources for socio-economic development in the coming months, aiming to sustain growth momentum despite global uncertainties.

The regular meeting, chaired by Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, reviewed performance in February and outlined key tasks for March and the first quarter of 2026.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son speaks to direct the meeting.

Proactive and flexible governance allowed authorities at all levels to both ensure a stable Lunar New Year holiday for residents and maintain uninterrupted production and business activities.

In February, the province’s industrial production index was estimated to have risen 2.5% from the previous month. For the first two months of the year, industrial output surged 20.95% from a year earlier.

Total retail sales of goods were estimated at 11.845 trillion VND (452 million USD) in February, up 21.67% year-on-year. Import-export turnover reached 13.76 billion USD in the month, bringing the cumulative figure for January-February to 31.14 billion USD.

State budget revenue totaled 26.1 trillion VND, equivalent to 36% of the annual estimate. Of that, domestic revenue accounted for 23.8 trillion VND, while revenue from import-export taxes reached 2.21 trillion VND.

Foreign direct investment inflows continued to be a bright spot. In the first two months, Bac Ninh granted investment registration certificates to 82 new projects and approved capital increases for 65 existing projects.

Total registered and adjusted capital reached more than 4.24 billion USD, making Bac Ninh the top locality nationwide in FDI attraction for two consecutive months.

More than 95% of workers in industrial parks returned to work on the first day after the Lunar New Year holiday. Preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term are being carried out in line with legal regulations.

Social order and safety were maintained, while traffic accidents declined compared with the same period last year.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son warned that global developments, particularly ongoing tensions in the Middle East, could pose risks to the province’s growth targets.

He instructed departments, sectors and local authorities to carefully review key tasks for March and the first quarter, prioritize resource allocation and intensify efforts to promote socio-economic development to build momentum for subsequent months.

The Chairman called for the mobilization of maximum resources to speed up implementation and completion of major projects, with priority given to the Gia Binh International Airport project and its connecting roads. He also urged faster progress in finalizing the provincial master plan.

In agriculture, authorities were directed to guide farmers in caring for fruit trees and expanding high-tech agricultural production.

The province will also prepare for major cultural events, including a ceremony to receive UNESCO recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac complex as a World Cultural Heritage site, and the anticipated inscription of Dong Ho folk painting on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

The meeting also reviewed plans to establish Bac Ninh City and considered land pricing approvals for calculating land-use fees for phases nine and 10 of Zone B in the Dinh Tram – Sen Ho new urban area project in Viet Yen district, now Nenh and Viet Yen wards.
