The agreement, signed between Business Sweden and Ericsson Vietnam, formalizes Ericsson’s participation in the Sweden–Vietnam Health Innovation Partnership, an initiative launched by Business Sweden to connect policymakers, healthcare providers and leading medical organizations in Vietnam.
The MoU focuses on two strategic pillars: digital healthcare development and telemedicine. It prioritizes building modern connectivity infrastructure and deploying solutions to bridge geographical gaps, bringing high-quality healthcare services closer to people, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
Under the agreement, Ericsson Vietnam will contribute expertise and develop solutions within the partnership’s framework, leveraging 5G infrastructure and applying advanced global healthcare models and technologies to improve access to medical services.
The move follows Sweden’s earlier support for Bac Ninh’s healthcare sector since December 2025. A pilot project under the partnership is currently being implemented in the province, focusing on key areas such as capacity building, professional skills development, digital transformation and healthcare infrastructure development.
Sweden and Vietnam have long-standing cooperation in healthcare and scientific research. In recent years, the two countries have stepped up efforts to revive and expand bilateral ties, with a focus on infrastructure development and digital transformation in healthcare to meet rising demand.
The involvement of leading global partners such as Ericsson is expected to serve as a key driver in helping Bac Ninh realize its goal of becoming a leading smart healthcare hub in the region.
