Bac Ninh’s FDI hub needs more than 330,000 workers

Updated: 16:30, 12/03/2026

BAC NINH - Factories across Bac Ninh province are expected to need nearly 334,000 workers, with unskilled labour accounting for about 87%, mainly concentrated in the electronics and electrical manufacturing sector, according to local employment officials.

Vu Tien Thanh, Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Employment Service Centre, said several major factories are recruiting large numbers of workers. Among them, Goertek Vina plans to hire about 120,000 employees, Fukang Technology around 60,000, Luxshare about 40,000, and Newwing Interconnect Technology roughly 12,000 workers.

College students in Bac Ninh receive recruitment consultations at an employment fair in early 2025.

The electronics and electrical industry leads labour demand, accounting for nearly 70% of total recruitment needs. It is followed by the garment and textile sector with 13%, manufacturing and processing industries at 7%, and construction at around 5%, Thanh said.

In terms of qualifications, unskilled workers make up the majority at 87%. Workers with university degrees account for nearly 6%, college graduates about 3%, intermediate-level vocational training over 2%, and elementary-level vocational training around 1%.

Thanh noted that training institutions in the province supply more than 20,000 graduates each year, meeting only about 30% of total labour demand. The remaining workforce is sourced through cooperation with universities, colleges and vocational schools outside the province.

A recent survey shows many companies are offering generous recruitment bonuses to attract employees. The average bonus ranges from 7 million to 8 million VND per worker, though some firms offer even higher incentives.

In some cases, applicants who apply directly can receive bonuses of up to 9 million VND if they remain employed for four months, while employees who refer new recruits internally may receive additional rewards.

Bac Ninh was Vietnam’s top locality for foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in 2025, attracting about 5.5 billion USD in registered capital.

The province currently hosts nearly 3,400 industrial projects, mainly in electronics manufacturing, component production, garments and logistics. These projects employ roughly 830,000 workers, the majority of whom come from other provinces.

Despite this large workforce, labour shortages continue to emerge as factories expand production. The industrial land occupancy rate exceeds 55%, and ongoing expansion by major manufacturers has intensified demand for workers, particularly around the Lunar New Year period and the beginning of each year.
