Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said South Korea and Japan remain among Bac Ninh’s most important strategic investors. Of the province’s registered FDI capital of 49.5 billion USD, South Korean investors account for 18.8 billion USD, while Japanese firms have invested nearly 2.06 billion USD.
The strong presence of companies from the two countries has helped Bac Ninh maintain its position among Vietnam’s leading destinations for foreign investment, particularly in electronics and high-value manufacturing.
During the trip, the delegation held meetings with local authorities and major corporations, including Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Samsung Electronics, Japan’s AeonMall, Sunhill and Seishokai Medical Group. Provincial officials discussed investment opportunities, production activities and measures to improve the local business environment.

Bac Ninh has emerged as one of Vietnam’s industrial hubs, benefiting from a dense network of industrial parks and transport infrastructure. The province currently has 39 industrial parks and 96 industrial clusters, supported by expressways, national highways, railways and inland waterways.
Authorities are also developing Gia Binh International Airport, a project expected to strengthen connectivity with major economic centers.
Provincial leaders used the trip to highlight Bac Ninh’s efforts to create a transparent and business-friendly investment climate while promoting sectors with high technological content and added value.
During the visit, Bac Ninh granted investment registration certificates worth a combined 152 million USD to two Japanese-backed projects. They include the AeonMall Bac Ninh commercial center project in Tan Tien ward and the Sunhill Vietnam No. 2 factory project in Doan Bai Industrial Cluster, Hiep Hoa commune.
Sunhill manufactures industrial caster wheels and replacement components supplied to global markets. Provincial officials said the approval of the projects demonstrated Bac Ninh’s commitment to supporting investors and accelerating project implementation.
In addition to manufacturing and trade, Bac Ninh is also seeking cooperation in healthcare and urban development.
Seishokai Medical Group, which operates a hospital and five specialized clinics in Japan, has already supported professional training for Anh Quat General Hospital in Bac Ninh in the field of dialysis treatment.
Chairman Matsumoto Akihide said Vietnam’s rapidly aging population was creating growing demand for healthcare, rehabilitation and long-term elderly care services. Bac Ninh officials said studying Japan’s elderly care model could help the province modernize its healthcare system.
The province is also promoting urban development projects linked to industry and services. During the trip, Bac Ninh officials worked with Korea Land and Housing Corporation on proposed integrated urban projects combining industrial, residential and service development with estimated investment exceeding 700 million USD.
The delegation also met authorities in Japan’s Mie prefecture and South Korea’s Gyeongsangbuk-do province to expand cooperation in trade, culture and education. Officials from Mie said several local companies were exploring investment opportunities in Bac Ninh and requested support to accelerate future projects.
Bac Ninh and Gyeongsangbuk-do also agreed to deepen cooperation in economic development, cultural exchange and youth engagement. The two sides pledged to continue promoting the Vietnam Village project in Bonghwa county, envisioned as a cultural and tourism bridge between Vietnam and South Korea.

Provincial authorities said Bac Ninh would continue prioritizing investment attraction in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cultural industries, healthcare services and smart urban development.
The province also plans to establish dedicated investment support teams for businesses from different countries and territories to help investors address administrative and operational challenges more efficiently.
Officials said Bac Ninh aims to leverage its industrial base, infrastructure and workforce to attract high-quality capital flows as part of a broader effort to transform its economic growth model.
