Bac Ninh seeks to boost tourism through travel industry partnerships
BAC NINH - More than 50 tourism businesses, travel agencies and accommodation providers joined a tourism promotion conference in Bac Ninh province, as local authorities stepped up efforts to attract more visitors through closer cooperation with the travel industry.
The event, organized on July 29 by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, focused on strengthening links between tourism stakeholders, developing distinctive tourism products and improving the competitiveness of Bac Ninh as a destination.

Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, attended the conference alongside representatives from provincial agencies and tourism enterprises from Hanoi and Bac Ninh.
Authorities highlighted Bac Ninh's rich cultural heritage, including Quan Ho folk singing, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The province is home to eight UNESCO-recognized heritage elements, more than 3,000 historical and cultural sites, and 1,455 nationally or provincially listed relics.
Provincial officials said Bac Ninh has invested in tourism infrastructure, heritage conservation, service quality and the business environment while introducing new tourism products and organizing cultural events and festivals to strengthen its appeal to domestic and international visitors.
Travel companies discussed challenges facing the sector and proposed measures to develop new tourism products, extend visitor stays and increase tourist spending.
Participants called for stronger cooperation between businesses, local authorities, craft villages and communities, as well as greater support for digital transformation, destination marketing, workforce training and regional tourism links.
They also shared experiences in developing cultural, experiential, industrial and night-time tourism products suited to the province.
The provincial leader urged the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to incorporate businesses' recommendations into the province's tourism development strategy and maintain regular dialogue with the private sector to address bottlenecks and develop new products.

He also called for more familiarization trips targeting visitors from Hanoi and neighboring provinces, alongside the development of short-stay itineraries featuring cultural heritage, spiritual sites, archaeology, local cuisine and traditional craft villages.
The Vice Chairman also stressed the need to accelerate digital transformation by building a centralized digital database covering heritage assets, tourist attractions and tourism products, while strengthening destination promotion linked to specific travel routes.
During the conference, the Bac Ninh Center for Culture and Tourism Promotion and several tourism companies signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on developing the province's tourism products during the 2026-2030 period.
Separately, Hai Van Cat International Travel JSC and Tay Yen Tu Services JSC signed an agreement to jointly develop the Vinh Nghiem–Tay Yen Tu tourism product.
