Luong Nhu Quynh secured two gold medals in the women’s under-78kg junior and senior categories, while Tran Hanh Trang won gold in the women’s over-78kg junior event.

Nguyen Xuan Ton claimed gold in the junior Katame No Kata category and Dam Duy Ky took gold in the Kime No Kata event.

Nguyen Cong Ha earned a silver medal in the junior Kime No Kata category.

The three bronze medals went to Nguyen Thi Thom in the women’s 44kg division, Nguyen Minh Luc in Kime No Kata and Phung Gia Hy in Kime No Kata.

The 2026 Southeast Asian Judo Championships took place in Bac Ninh from May 19-24, bringing together 369 athletes and coaches from seven Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and host nation Vietnam.

The tournament aimed to promote the development of judo in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, while also helping introduce Bac Ninh and its people to international visitors.

Vietnam topped the overall medal standings with 33 gold medals, 35 silvers and 51 bronzes. Indonesia finished second and Thailand placed third.
