Bac Ninh wins three awards at National Music Festival 2025
BAC NINH - The Vietnam Musicians’ Association has organized the 2025 National Music Festival themed “Music Converges and Spreads” at the Southern Military Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring two main categories: musical composition and vocal and instrumental performance.
The festival took place from October 29 to November 2, bringing together hundreds of artists nationwide. The organizing committee awarded 15 first prizes (A), 41 second prizes (B), along with 14 gold and 18 silver medals to outstanding musicians and singers.

Representing Bac Ninh province, the local branch of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association participated with eight performances, including six compositions and two vocal and instrumental entries.
At the event, Bac Ninh’s delegation received three awards: two second prizes for musical works and one silver medal for performance.
The prize-winning compositions included “Affection Left Behind” (music by Nguyen Trung, lyrics adapted from a poem by Xuan Truong) and “Heroic Soldiers of Dien Bien” (music by Dao Anh Tuan, lyrics adapted from a poem by To Huu). Musician Nguyen Lan Huong also won a silver medal for performing “Farewell on a Moonlit Night,” composed by Nguyen Viet Binh.
This year’s festival drew 38 chapters of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association from across the country, with more than 600 musicians, singers, and instrumentalists showcasing 186 works over seven nights of performances.
The event served as a platform for professional exchange and creative inspiration among composers and performers, celebrating the vitality and diversity of Vietnamese contemporary music.
The 2025 festival continued its mission of honoring new, high-quality works that reflect patriotism, humanity, and the beauty of everyday life. It also aimed to encourage young artists to explore fresh creative directions while preserving national cultural identity.
The festival concluded with a gala concert that brought together award-winning performances, highlighting the fusion of traditional and modern sounds that characterize the evolving landscape of Vietnamese music.
