Bac Ninh wrestler Do Ngoc Linh wins gold at Asian Youth Wrestling championships
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh wrestler Do Ngoc Linh won the gold medal in the women’s 50kg freestyle category at the 2026 Asian Youth Wrestling Championships.
In the final held at Tien Son Sports Palace in Da Nang, Linh delivered a composed performance against India’s Sweety S.

Despite facing difficulties against her opponent’s speed and physical strength, the Bac Ninh athlete remained confident and effectively executed her signature techniques to secure a 7-5 victory and claim the title.
The 2026 Asian Age-Group Wrestling Championships are taking place from May 23 to June 9 at Tien Son Sports Palace and My Khe Beach Park in Da Nang.

The tournament has attracted nearly 900 athletes from 25 countries and territories competing in four disciplines: freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, women’s wrestling and beach wrestling for age groups from U17 to U23.
Trained at Bac Ninh Sports Training and Competition Center No. 2, Do Ngoc Linh is considered one of the province’s leading high-performance athletes. The latest gold medal extends her recent run of impressive achievements.

Two weeks earlier, the 2004-born wrestler from Ngoc Thien commune captured gold at the 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championships, following her SEA Games 33 gold medal at the end of 2025.
Her achievements underline both her rapid progress and the growing stature of Vietnamese women’s wrestling, particularly Bac Ninh wrestling, on the continental and global stage.
