There remain only about 100 – 150 individuals in the Tay Yen Tu Natural Conservation Area in the northern province of Bac Giang listed.
Previously, the crocodile lizard in the region was alarmed on June 11, 2014, by the International Union of Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) at the endangered level in the IUCN Red List.
Apart from the crocodile lizard, Tay Yen Tu site is home to several threatened animals and plants such as Vietnam Cyclocheilichthys enoplos, Yen Tu frog among others.
The Management Board of Tay Yen Tu Conservation Area has regularly coordinated with the local authority in actively implementing various campaigns to sustainably preserve and develop the biodiversity for the region in particular and for the crocodile lizard in general.
