Since January 2019 when the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) took effect, Ha Phong JSC considered it as a new opportunity to expand the market as well as a challenge. The company invested nearly 120 billion VND (5.1 million USD) to buy 500 sewing machines, automatic cutting machines, modern overcasting stitch among others to enhance the product quality and competitiveness.
At the same time, Ha Phong JSC arranges sufficient staff, reinforce the product management to ensure the criteria agreed with customers before export. By this way, the company inked dozens of new orders to several countries.
The yearly export quantity increased some 43 million products, 90 percent of which were exported to the US, and the others to the European and EU markets with total export value of 250 million USD, up over 60 million USD comparing to last year figure and far exceeding the set target.
Additionally, Ha Phong JSC has been honored for years by the General Department of Taxation and provincial Tax Office for it annual contribution of dozens of billions VND to the provincial budget. It also creates stable jobs to some 7,000 rural laborers.
Thanks to the great effort in production and business, the export turnover of LGG Garment Corporation JSC (Lang Giang district); BGG Garment Corporation JSC (Bac Giang city) made a sharp year on year increase.
Similarly, many companies achieved good growth rate such as Vifoco Export Import JSC (Bac Giang city); GOC Export Processing JSC (Lang Giang district).
According to the Custom Office controlling the Bac Giang provincial industrial parks, 530 enterprises in the province opened the custom declaration sheets with highest export turnover of 8.4 billion USD, up nearly 8 percent comparing to last year. |
Vifoco JSC mostly exported the canned cucumber, sweet corn and various juices to Russia and German in previous years, this year it expanded the market to several European countries and Japan with export turnover up 15 percent against last year.
Not only domestic enterprises but also many businesses with direct foreign investment producing the electronic components had high export turnover, typically Fuhong Precision Component Bac Giang Company Limited (Dinh Tram Industrial park) with export turnover of over 2.2 billion USD; Shinsung Vina Company Limited (Song Khe – Noi Hoang Industrial park) with export value of 1.2 billion USD and contribution to provincial budget of over 92 billion VND (3.9 million USD).
Creating momentum for export businesses

The CO’s leader said the export businesses with high growth value is the new wind to boost the local budget collection with total tax amount collected from the export and import activities hitting nearly 1.3 trillion VND (56.1 million USD).

The prominent results were gained thanks to the great effort taken by the enterprises to explore and seek new partners and expand the markets. Particularly, many businesses actively invested dozens and hundreds of billion VND to revamp, upgrade, expand the factories as well as equip modern machine to improve the quality, ensure the product sources and customers’ belief.
Moreover, the CO well conducts the automatic custom clearance to the enterprises and arranges staff on duty on Saturday to handle the document and clear the customs procedure.
The Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) has paid due attention to accelerating the administrative reform, coordinate with the localities and sectors to solve the difficulties and obstacles in production and business while boosting the project execution progress to create more product and service to ensure the product source for export.
According to the DoIT Director Tran Quang Tan, implementing the instruction of the provincial People’s Committee, the DoIT annually focuses on supporting the export businesses in trade promotion via participating in the domestic and foreign fairs to search for markets and introduce the products; building and upgrading their websites to accelerate the electronic commerce.
In 2019, the DoIT supported 20 businesses to create the websites and join the e-commerce platform.
