Updated: 16:22, 30/09/2021
PC-Covid, a consolidation of various Covid-19 smartphone applications hitherto used in Vietnam, is now available on Apple Store and Google Play.

It will be the only app used for Covid control from now on, and will carry personal information, enable users to make health declarations and have vaccination and testing information among others.

According to the Information Technology Application Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communications, the app would be regularly updated and tweaked on the direction of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

The information in it about people's health, whereabouts and contacts would only be used for pandemic prevention, a ministry's representative assured.

Since the pandemic began Vietnam has had 12 different apps like Bluezone, VHD and VNeID.

The new app will however not replace the electronic health book (SSKDT), which will be maintained and later used for digital transformation in healthcare.

It will replace the health examination booklets issued to people to record details of examination and treatment.
