Bac Ninh prepares conditions for export of lychee to American market
BAC NINH- Member of the provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) and Head of the provincial Delegation to the National Assembly Deputies Pham Van Thinh hosted a working session with the US-based Dragonberry Produce Company to promote cooperation and prepare for export of lychee to the North American market in the 2026 harvest season.
At the meeting, the representative of Dragonberry Produce reported on the export of lychee to North America in 2025 while recommending some plans for investment cooperation and market expansion for export of lychee starting from 2026 and coming years.

In July 2025, Dragonberry Produce, one of the leading premium farm produce importers in North America, continued its campaign to distribute lychee in the US market through major supermarket chains like Safeway. At the same time, Vietnamese lychee also made its debut on the shelves of Costo, the largest retail chain in the US.
This year, Bac Ninh has 29,700 hectares of lychee including 8,000 hectares of early ripen lychee and other 21,700 hectares of main crop lychee. There were more production areas following VietGAP and GlobalGAP.

The lychee productivity reached over 205,000 tonnes, a sharp increase against the previous year. The consumption of lychee was strongly promoted.
Bac Ninh lychee was exported to high demanding markets such as Europe and US and sold in big supermarket networks including Safeway, Costco, Selgros, Rungis Market and among others.

Speaking at the working session, PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh stressed Bac Ninh province always welcomes and supports businesses to seek investment opportunities in the province.
He urged related departments and agencies to closely collaborate and facilitate Dragonberry Produce in conducting surveys and completing necessary procedures.
Besides, they need to build lychee growing areas that meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards together with management of planting area codes to meet requirements of the North American market.

The provincial People’s Committee expected that the cooperation with Dragonberry will open new opportunities, help to affirm the trademark of Bac Ninh lychee internationally, generate higher income for farmers and foster the province’s sustainable agricultural development.
On this occasion, PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh presented PPC Chairman’s certificate of merit to Amy Nguyen, Chairman and Founder of Dragonberry Produce for her outstanding achievements in supporting local people in consumption of lychee in 2025.
