The campus will focus on vocational training, particularly in engineering and technology, combined with workforce training tailored to industry needs, applied research and innovation.
It is expected to help provide a highly skilled technical and technological workforce to meet the development needs of Bac Ninh and the surrounding region, particularly in industry and high-tech sectors, he noted.
The university proposed that the municipal People's Committee consider and facilitate the appointment of BK Holdings, another member of HUST, as the project's investor.
BK Holdings will coordinate with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities throughout the necessary procedures for project implementation.
During the event, leaders of the city's departments and agencies and representatives of HUST discussed the proposed investment model, legal framework, procedures for land use and other issues related to project implementation.
Concluding the working session, Mai Son acknowledged the proposal from HUST and affirmed that the city attaches importance to the development of training campuses of universities in the locality.
He emphasised that HUST is a major and reputable higher education institution with strong capabilities in engineering and technology training.
Researching and developing an affiliated campus in Bac Ninh is consistent with the city's demand for human resources to support industrial and high-tech development.
