Hiep Hoa District borders Thai Nguyen Province, Bac Ninh Province and Hanoi City which have dynamic economic development in the midlands and Northern Delta. The district has many important traffic routes to link localities in the province and connect to other provinces.

Recently, Hiep Hoa district has focused on planning, managing the construction and urban development investment, attracting investors to build socio-economic infrastructure.

The construction and development of Hiep Hoa urban area is a unified and consistent policy of Bac Giang province and Hiep Hoa district which was reflected in the planning of Bac Giang province approved by the Prime Minister.

Thang town and its surrounding areas were recognized by the Minister of Construction to meet the criteria of fourth tier urban area in 2012; the National Assembly Standing Committee upgraded and established Bac Ly town in 2022.

According to the Project, the scope of Hiep Hoa urban classification consists of the entire administrative boundary of Hiep Hoa district with a total area of ​​about 206 square meters.

At the conference, the Council members unanimously recognized Hiep Hoa district to meet the criteria of fourth tier urban area and commented on the fields of planning, architecture, landscape, transportation, tourism, finance, environment and culture among others. The Council also voted to approve the Project with a total score of 84.36 out of 100 points.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van stated that the recognition of fourth tier Hiep Hoa urban area will create new positions and strengths for the district to attract investment, continue to develop and lay the foundation for the development of Hiep Hoa township.

To further improve the quality of the Project, he suggested that the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa district and Bac Giang province to study and fully absorb the comments of the Council members, review the standards and criteria towards the establishment of Hiep Hoa township in the near future.

The locality should specify urban development programs, focusing on investment in inner-city areas and developing green trees together with further improving the life quality of local people.
