According to the Vice Chairman of Hung Yen provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Minh Quang, Hung Yen is not the homeland of oranges but this type of fruit and longans have been cultivated in the province for a long time. Hung Yen oranges are delicious, sweet and fragrant which are different from others, Quang noted.

Numerous visitors flock to the festival showcasing oranges, pomelos and typical farm produce of Luc Ngan district in Bac Giang province.

The growing area of oranges has been expanded to approximately 1,600ha in eight out of 10 districts of Hung Yen with an annual output of over 35,000 tonnes.

The festival, which will conclude on November 29, gathers 50 pavilions showcasing oranges and other local fruits in a bid to promote the brands and consumption of local agricultural products.

The event aims to honor local fruits and boost links between farmers, enterprises and management agencies in the production and consumption of agricultural products.

Luc Ngan district has more than 27,000ha of fruit trees including nearly 15,300ha of lychee (the largest growing area in the North) and over 6,400ha of citrus fruits with an estimated output of 53,000 tonnes of citrus fruits in 2018.
