Luc Ngan prioritises investment in transport - urban infrastructure, raising value of key fruit areas
Good economic growth
The material and spiritual life of the people not only in Chu township but also in mountainous and upland communes of the district have changed markedly. These results were obtained thanks to efforts by the Party committees and authorities in directing and organizing the effective implementation of resolutions, schemes, projects and policies to support production development.

Attention has been paid to developing areas growing key fruit trees such as lychee and citrus. The whole district has nearly 28,000 hectares of fruit trees, with an estimated output of 180,000 tonnes this year, an increase of 60,000 tonnes compared to 2015.
In particular, the lychee area is nearly 15,300 hectares (80 percent of which are produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards), bringing in an average value of more than 2 trillion VND (98.4 million USD) each year. The area of citrus trees has increased sharply, reaching nearly 6,800 hectares, up 5,600 hectares compared to the beginning of the tenure, creating a value of nearly 1.2 trillion VND (51.3 million USD) per year.
One of the key tasks that the district has paid attention to is focusing on mobilizing resources to invest in developing socio-economic infrastructure, creating breakthroughs in this field. So far, Luc Ngan has concreted more than 1,500 km of rural roads, raising the rate of concrete roads to nearly 85 percent, skyrocketing 402.6 percent over 2015.
The value of industrial-handicraft production and rural industries has grown at an average of 22.47 percent per year. In 2020, the production value is estimated at nearly 3 trillion VND (128.5 million USD). The rural areas have been given a facelift. At present, the whole district has 12 communes meeting the new-style rural area standards, exceeding 9 percent compared to the target set by the Congress.
The material and spiritual life of the people has improved clearly and substantially. Along with the tasks of economic development and poverty reduction, the district has paid heed to comprehensive development of education and training. The locals’ cultural and spiritual life has become better.
Improving the Party's leadership capacity
Determining economic development as the focus and Party building as the key, since the beginning of the tenure, the district Party Organisation has focused on building the Party and improving the leadership and combat capacity of grassroots-level Party organizations and quality of Party members.
The leadership, direction and successful implementation of tasks in Luc Ngan district over the past time have been attributed to the constant consolidation and building of great unity bloc, especially in Party organizations and among key officials. The district has also paid attention to building a contingent of cadres with political firmness, good quality and high qualifications.
Besides, the district Party Organisation has chosen and set out the right tasks and focused on leading the implementation; while delivering drastical direction and open and transparent management, and promoting democracy in association with raising the role and responsibility of the heads.
Building key fruit growing areas
In the 2020-2025 tenure, amid the renewal requirements in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Party Organization, authorities and people in Luc Ngan district will continue to promote solidarity and strive to reap greater achievements in all fields.

Promoting the strength as a key fruit growing region, the district aims to continue renovating the organization of production and applying science and technology to improve the quality, value and competitiveness of fruit products.
Livestock development will be commensurate with potential, thus bringing in high income and value in the structure of agriculture and forestry sector. The district will pay attention to forestry development in order to improve the life of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
It plans to focus on developing socio-economic infrastructure, especially transport and urban infrastructure; planning and constructing new residential and urban areas; opening new key roads and upgrading roads managed by the district; and building new-style rural areas.
Luc Ngan will invest in trade development and attract investment in building supermarkets, trade centers and general services in Chu township and centers of some communes, while creating breakthroughs in tourism development.
The district will pay attention to investment in comprehensive development of education, continue to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and public health care, build cultural life and environment imbued with national identity, toward the comprehensive development of Luc Ngan people. It will strive for full and timely implementation of welfare and social security policies for local residents.
