Nguyen Hue Tet 'flower street' to feature food stalls for 1st time

Nguyen Hue in downtown Ho Chi Minh City will take its annual "flower street" avatar for eight days during Lunar New Year, and have food stalls for the first time.
According to plans unveiled by city authorities, it will open to visitors at 7 p.m. on Feb. 15, and close on Feb. 22.

Culinary areas and festivities will be on both sides of the street and at the intersection with Le Loi Street.
Organizers plan to set up nearly 50 food booths.
The annual celebration of Vietnam’s most important festival has grown into a cultural hallmark of the city.
Last year the street drew over 1.2 million visitors.
This year the country will have nine days of holidays for Tet from Feb. 14 to 22.
The Year of the Horse begins on Feb. 17.
