Nurse Nguyen Thi Chung honored nationwide
BAC GIANG - On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28 (1929-2024), the Vietnam Medical Union has just coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Nursing Association to honor 135 outstanding nurses in epidemic prevention and control in the period 2020-2023, including specialist nurse level 1 Nguyen Thi Chung (born 1982), Head of Nursing Department (Hiep Hoa District Medical Center) in Bac Giang province.
When the Covid-19 pandemic occurred in the province, Nguyen Thi Chung and her colleagues developed patient care and infection control procedures; actively participated in screening samples in the community and directly took care of and treated Covid-19 infected patients at the District Medical Center.

When the it broke out in the southern provinces, she volunteered to join the effort to fight against the epidemic in Binh Duong province. During the 40 peak days, she advised Binh Duong province's Covid-19 patient treatment facility to triage, monitor, care for and directly treat patients with moderate and severe infections.
At some period, she and 16 doctors and nurses cared for and treated nearly 1,000 patients, most of whom were seriously ill.
Since 2020, she has completed her tasks well and excellently. Chung has been praised and rewarded by the Department of Health and the District People's Committee.
