Three outstanding students in national high school graduation examination

BAC GIANG - At the 2024 high school graduation exam, many students in Bac Giang province got high scores in university admission combinations. Bac Giang newspaper introduces three outstanding students in three combinations.

Perfect scores in History and Geography

The male student with the highest score in the combination C00 is Than Duc Viet in class 12A10 of Ngo Si Lien High School (Bac Giang City). He gained total score of 29.5 in 3 subjects (Literature 9.5; History 10; Geography 10). Such score helps him become the contestant with the highest score among the combinations.

Sharing about the study, Viet said that in combination C00, he always learned all lessons firmly right from the start. During the learning process, Viet kept drawing mind maps, listed main ideas and important data milestones and focused on listening to teachers in class.

Every day, Viet took time self-reviewing the knowledge and set goals to strive for completion. Therefore, by the end of grade 12, he firmly grasped all knowledge. Before the exam, he only needed to review and focus on expanding and improving to answer difficult questions.

In the 2024 provincial exam for excellent students in History, Viet won second prize so he used this result together with the school report as the university admission registration and was admitted to the Faculty of Business Law, University of Law (Hanoi National University).

I was born into a family with 2 brothers in Da Mai ward (Bac Giang city). Viet's younger brother is a 7th grade student at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School. His father works as a driver and his mother is a busy accountant so Viet is also in charge of tutoring his brother.

The male student plans to use the results of the high school graduation exam to enroll in the Economic Law major of Hanoi Law University to realize his dream of becoming a lawyer.

Studious and hardworking student earns highest score in combination B00

While helping parent clean up the lychee garden in post harvest season, student Nguyen Truong Son at 12A1 class in Luc Ngan High School 1 knew he gained the highest score (28.85 points) in the combination B00 ( Math: 9.6; Chemistry: 10; Biology: 9.25) of Bac Giang province in the high school graduation exam.

In this exam, no contestant in the country earned perfect score in Mathematics. Son is one of 6 candidates with the highest Math test scores in the province.

In the provincial exam for excellent student in grade 12, Son won first prize in Mathematics. He is also good at all natural subjects. His secret to get high scores is to pay attention to lectures and study at home.

Even though he was in the final grade, Son did not go to extra classes. After class hours, he did his own exercises according to the textbook then expanded and improved his knowledge.

In May 2024, Son took the competency assessment exam of Hanoi University of Education and scored 27.75 out of 30 points. Then he was admitted early to Mathematics major.

In particular, with excellent scores in the high school graduation exam, Son has a new choice to apply for admission to Hanoi Medical University. Taking advantage of the waiting time for university admission results, he is studying online to take the IELTS foreign language certificate test in the near future.

Also at the same exam, candidate Do Duy Thanh, class 12A8 in Yen The High School scored 28.75 points in 3 subjects: Math (9), Physics (9.75), Chemistry (10), the highest in the province in the combination A00. With this result, he plans to enroll in the Computer Science major of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

Currently, Thanh lives with his family in Dong Tam commune (Yen The). His father is a soldier and his mother is a Literature teacher at Hong Ky Secondary School.

From early childhood, Thanh was a studious student and won many awards. During his junior high school years, Thanh won first and second prizes in Literature, Mathematics and Chemistry in the district-level excellent student contest. In 2024, the male student won second prize in Chemistry at the provincial contest for excellent students.

The small student is very agile and intelligent. Every day, he spent a lot of time self-studying, proactively reviewed lessons in textbooks, expanded the difficult exercises to get points in hard section. Whether studying at home or in class, Thanh concentrated highly so as to absorb and understand the lesson thoroughly.
