Over 1.5 million hits to National Online Book Festival

The 2021 National Online Book Festival received over 1.5 million hits in the past 10 days, according to the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
More than 10,000 book titles with subsidies of 50 to 80% have been introduced to readers nationwide from April 30 to May 2.

The event, held from April 17 to May 15, is among the activities to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30), and the 135th anniversary of International May Day (May 1).
It also featured a variety of activities nationwide in response to Vietnam Book Day (April 21).
This is the second year the National Online Book Festival is held with the message “Bringing books to everywhere”.
Vietnam Day of Book and Reading Culture widespreads love for book

– After 8 years to be launched and held in Bac Giang province, Vietnam Book Day
(currently Vietnam Day of Book and Reading Culture) April 21 becomes annual
important event and beautiful culture in the community, especially to book
lovers.
Developing reading culture in the community with the use of non-state funding
The Department of Publishing, Printing and Issuing, Vietnam Post and Trung Nguyen Corporation JSC held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 2 to announce and ink a coordination programme in the implementation of a plan to develop reading culture in the community with the use of non-state funding in the 2020-2025 period.
Bac Giang supervises Covid-19 prevention and control in quarantine areas to avoid spreading pathogens to community

- In recent days, Bac Giang province has continuously recorded imported
Covid-19 cases, but all patients were put under medical monitoring right upon
their arrival. The provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control
continues to direct the close control of the sources of infection from people
entering the province from abroad to prevent pathogens from spreading to the community.
Widespreading good deed from blood donating families and relatives
(BGO) – For recent years, Bac Giang province always
ranks top in the Northern provinces for the result of voluntary blood donation
(VBD) thanks to great contribution from the outstanding blood donating families
and relatives in the localities across the province.

(BGO) – The Department of Culture, Sports
and Tourism (DoCST) on July 18 coordinated with the Department of Education and
Training to hold a ceremony to conclude and award the preliminary round of “Reading
Culture Ambassador Contest 2020” in Bac Giang province which was launched by
the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism.
