Updated: 07:27, 19/09/2020
Eighty teams have registered to compete at the 2020 Vietnam Off-road Cup (2020 VOC) in Hanoi at the end of this month.

The 12th edition of the cup will gather 160 drivers and assistants who will compete on 11 tracks. 10 tracks will be used for racing during the day and an "advanced" track will come into play at night.

Teams will be divided into four classes - pickup truck, basic, advanced and extended. Organizers said this year's event will be more challenging and carry more risks.

Participants will be given a racing card, which carries the racer's personal information and has a chip attached for the automatic scoring system, allowing real-time updating of the results.

VOC is an annual off-road motorsport tournament first established in 2010. This year's event will take place at the Vietnam National Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Son Tay, a town on Hanoi's outskirts, from September 26-27.
