Vietnam's domestic Covid case count up by 3,198

The Health Ministry confirmed another 3,198 Covid-19 patients in 20 localities Monday morning, with 1,997 recorded in Ho Chi Minh City.

The remaining cases were recorded in the southern Binh Duong (496), Dong Nai (189), Can Tho (119), Tien Giang (79), Vinh Long (50), An Giang (17), Kien Giang (17), Dong Thap (11); the central Da Nang City (76) and provinces of Binh Thuan (46), Binh Dinh (14), Dak Nong (10), Nghe An (8), Thanh Hoa (4), Ha Tinh (2), Lam Dong (2), Gia Lai (1); Hanoi and the northern province of Ninh Binh (13).

Of them, 2,222 were detected in isolated areas and 976 in the community.

Over three months into its fourth wave, the most challenging that Vietnam has encountered, the country has recorded 153,621 cases in 62 of its 63 cities and provinces.

HCMC accounts for most infections, at 96,292.

The country has vaccinated more than 6.41 million people, including 659,064 who have received two shots.
