Awards presented to journalism works on anti-corruption

The presentation ceremony for the fourth national press awards on preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena was held on November 5.

Nhan Dan Newspaper won one B prize and one consolation prize out of the total of four A prizes, ten B prizes, 12 C prizes and 28 consolation prizes awarded at the event.

According to the organisers, the winning works of journalism were selected from more than 1,000 entries in print, online, radio and television formats submitted by 121 press agencies nationwide.

Speaking at the awards presentation ceremony, head of the Central Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia underlined the Party’s strong determination to fight against corruption and negative phenomena.

He praised the organisation of the press awards on anti-corruption and made some suggestions regarding measures to further enhance the pioneering role of the press in this endeavour.

The Party official noted that it is necessary to step up collaboration between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and press agencies, promote the role of press associations in protecting their members in the fight against corruption and introduce appropriate mechanisms to honour journalists dedicated to combating corruption.
