Tissue and organ transplantation is one of the remarkable achievements of the medical sector, and it is especially important for patients with organ failure, chronic and dangerous diseases.
According to the provincial Department of Health, the number of people who voluntarily donate organs has increased but is still small compared to the actual needs. For a long time, the main sources for organ transplants have come from relatives of patients.
The leading central-level specialized hospitals have successfully carried out many transplants of human organs to bring life to patients, of which kidney transplants were the most.

The couple of Bach Thi Thong from Le Loi ward (Bac Giang city) voluntarily register to donate corneas after dealth. |
Bac Giang province currently has nearly 400 patients undergoing hemodialysis at hospitals such as the provincial General Hospital and the Yen The district General Hospital. Of these, many are prescribed by doctors to have a kidney transplant if possible to maintain better health.
However, due to the high cost, only people with finantial potential can afford a kidney transplant. Even those with economic conditions, it is difficult for them to get kidney transplantation because of few donations. In fact, many people die at hospital due to lack of donors as their relatives disagree with their donation.
